Night out with the boys

A Saturday with the kids,

catching up from my time away.

They ran around at the McDonalds with the play place, creating gangs of good guys and bad guys

with random strangers.

I watched with amazement

as the culture of childhood

surpassed the boundaries of strangers and age,

as every child in the shrieking shack

known as McDonald’s

joined forces.

Then a quiet nap with the little one

before my date with their daddy.

But when the little guy looked so distraught

at the idea of being left with the regular sitter,

we took him with us as well.

And so, I was blessed to spend the evening

walking around with my little man and my big man, happiness overflowing

as the smaller one danced on sock feet

through Cross Iron Mills.

When we returned home,

tired from seeing the fishes at Cabelas

and having ice cream twice,

I kissed them both

and we all snuggled in for the night

  1. Sounds like loving well to me, Heather! Been really praying and/or trying to love well. What I need more to do is seek God when I fail because that is inevitable. Have a blessed rest of the weekend, Julie
