Low pressure blues

Barometer rising

The tension is high

Pounding in the temples

As I rush to stay dry

The clouds roil above

Life continues below

I nervously await

For this storm to blow

I take medicine and coffee

To get through the day

As the sudden change in pressure

Causes me dismay

Once upon a time I wondered

what headaches were about

Now I’m close to the mountains,

And have absolutely no doubt

Then as fast as it appeared

The storm has rolled by

My headache has vanished

Into the clear, blue sky

  1. I am glad your headache vanished! You gave me a new word to learn. Never heard the word roil. Last but definitely not least, I did not know you lived near mountains! Oh if the Lord ever brings me there, we are going hiking!

    • Absolutely Julie! I don’t hike nearly as often as I’d like to 🙂 once the kids are older they’ll get dragged along as well 😉
