Twilights musings

The wind-up clock has almost run down

The light is gone from the sky

It’s past nine and time to rest

At least, it’s time to try

My little ones are tucked and safe

Slumbering in their beds

I love them all so very much

The soft little sleepy-heads

And now it’s my turn to close my eyes

And try to sleep and rest

My to-do list is long again

But tomorrow I’ll try my best

For now I watch the stars appear

In awe of nature’s beauty

Grateful for moments of peace

Where tranquility replaces duty
