    Insomnia dreams

Another sleepless night Wondering about the world Unsure if I like myself As evil thoughts twirled Worries for the day, Some, not even mine Others of the night, From a land before time Replaying conversations Worrying about what was said All of these contribute To the storm in my head Then one thought emerges, A…

    Easter morning

The Easter bunny is shy mommy, And doesn’t like to talk That’s the reason she runs away Before the light is up She wants to share her chocolate But has so much to do So she goes and hops away Before the night is through Kids devour their chocolates Until they feel rather ill Then…

    Rebirth

The sun confronts a blade of grass Sparring with the dew; A robin leaps, its prey in sight The earthworm in danger new The coldness of the night is past As light replaces dark Life awakes on a sleepy earth Amidst winter’s landscape stark Spring is here; hear, hear, rejoice! Life begins to grow Easter…

    The journey

Pounding head, Racing heart Knowing less Than at the start Each day I fight the fight Wondering if I’ll reach the light Darkness sinks Me down again All I need Is at the end When the journey’s rough The way is clear Soon the shadows Disappear At the end A new beginning If only strength…

  • Vortex

    Vortex

It swirls In eddies Gentle, At first But as I watch The power Pulls me under Darkness all around A swirling, Churning Vortex Allowing no escape A scream bubbles up Soundless, Unheard Stuck Between Scylla And Charybdis Underneath the waters I yearn To touch the sun

    Sunshine and shadows

We’re born, we suffer, we die. Listening to 21st-century creative, a new podcast I discovered through a different one when another writer whose opinion I value mentioned it was one of their favorites. A story within a story within a story? Either way, an interview with a British journalist turned author put me into an…

  • Disquietude

    Disquietude

It sits on my chest purring with pleasure I’m not sure how huge it is but it feels beyond measure perhaps it’s imagination making it seem bigger each day or perhaps it’s because there’s more in my way It’s becoming a friend Although not a great one it’s bigger at bad times but also there…

    January 14th

Another Monday almost gone sitting at a red light, I consider the dawn. Thoughts are spinning in my head, of things I did, and things I said. The weekends once again a blur At least this time I thought of her. The her I mean is me, myself The one who comes after everyone else.…
