Soft repose

Sometimes I wonder

how it was I got so lucky in life

A wonderful job,

amazing friends who’ve touched my life,

A husband I love

and family I get along with and enjoy.

But anytime I begin to fret

that life isn’t quite what it should be

Or that I haven’t achieved

what I set out to do

A moment like this stops me

Flat

With wonder

The softness of his hair

The warm trusting weight

Knowing these moments are fleeting

I treasure them so much more

They are only small for a little while

Only need so many cuddles

while they’re small

Omly want all your time

When the world is big

So I hold on tight,

While I can

And treasure every soft snore

For as long as this lasts
