Playing hooky

Another day of conference in a city made for fun.

Focusing on learning as I get older sometimes feels like I have to pound stuff into my head with a mallet.

It’s amazing that I accomplished another 12 years of education after the first 13 of school. I spent an entire quarter of a century in school, and now two hours in a lecture hall makes my head hurt.

So I played hooky just long enough to hit up Simons. The last time I shopped there I was single and childless.

(My clothing size was also a little smaller.)

But the warm sunshine on my shoulders as I walked up and down the hills of the downtown allowed me to brush that aside, while the hills made me feel I had earned my lunch.

On such a lovely day, a minor learning headache can’t keep a good mom down.
