Ode to the road

Sometimes I think

I live in my car

from point a to point B

no matter how far.

The sound of the road

repetitive and dull

strangely is my time

relax in its lull.

No matter the distance

I always enjoy

whether by myself,

Or with my girls and my boy

The road is my transition

Between where I’d like to go

And where I am

So I try not to go too slow

I commute every day

and for fun will drive for hours

some of my best thoughts

Are thanks to its powers

The road has been my friend

with music and without

Identifying with Whitesnake

Like a drifter I shout

Maybe someday

I’ll enjoy it much less

but until that day comes

My car is the best
