November Sunday

Another long week has finally ended,

Fluffy snow softens the ground

My little ones cough and sputter

throwing their germs around

With so many items on my list,

But all the checkmarks missing

Another week looms stark ahead

And I don’t feel much of a blessing

But time it does not wait

And kids don’t care about your list

Love doesn’t wait until your laundry’s done

Or care how much work you’ve missed

I tell myself, when times are wearing

That remember, this too shall pass

Appreciate the gold wherever it is

Even amongst the chaff
