Life lessons, little ones

Soft, warm,

full of purr

They slide into your heart

Selfish, but snuggly in fur,

They teach my kits

To be gentle and kind

But even so,

They don’t always mind

Your best

isn’t good enough

At other times,

Nothing is too tough

Patient and easily startled

Wise and childish too;

The oldest scampers like a kitten

If light hits its view

My little loves learn

a little more every single day

But nothing teaches personality

As the cats in play
