Feline musings

The summer sun

hits my eyes

Closing them,

I smile

A rumble fills my chest

As my pet provides

the lap

upon which I perch

Blinking,

I survey my kingdom

It will do,

For now

Irritating subjects surround me

But they have their uses

The small ones

act so silly sometimes,

As if they were trying

to be feline

The big ones are slow

But provide relatively adequate care

The male more so

than the female

Since the small ones came along

It’s strange,

One would almost think

She cared more for them,

But of course,

That isn’t possible.

For how could anything

Come before me?

I say my prayers

Three times to the North,

Before switching to the south,

Wrap my silken tail around,

Covering myself

in the glory that is me
