A moment of Monday

Another Monday has flown by.

I’m not sure if they were designed by a cruel god, or planned by a hyper squirrel in a tree somewhere who laughs maniacally as they watch people rush around.

I jumped from one thing to the next,

trying to remember what I was forgetting.

It was one of those days where I got so far behind that I couldn’t make it home in time to take the kids to their after school activity, but then again, school was out for the holidays still, so they didn’t notice.

When I did finally get home,

everyone had already eaten and I was tired.

I read stories, tucked little ones in, and went to bed, seemingly moments after I first left the house.

On days like this Monday,

sometimes I wonder if I forgot to blink.
